Test report on the "Hadron XX" motor screen

 The company Dudek has newly constructed also the Hadron in their new (xx) series in the year 2015. Basically, I wanted to directly test the wing in the autumn 2015, but personal time problems and some bad weather periods have thwarted that unfortunately. But now it is so far and the first floor exercises, basic exercises, it became clear quickly, this test will cost me time. When Dudek, who has since 2015 Shark nose ETest Dudek - HadronInzug, the new "Hadron XX" is also equipped with this. The profile nose is completely redesigned and not just that. The new "Hadron XX" is a pure 3-line. The company Dudek is away from its 4-line philosophy and the more I was interested in how this now affects the new profile.  This new "Hadron XX" is a racing engine as we will see. The wing is built for pilots who want a very dynamic and very fast wing. Whether it's for the competition or also because you want to have this high speed easily and whenever and why. The target direction of Dudek for this "Hadron XX" is clearly defined, athletic, Yes very athletic!

The entire profile nose of the "Hadron XX" is stabilized by fine plastic sticks. The reinforcing sticks go from profile nose on the lower sail about 40 cm and on the mainsail about 50 cm in depth and stabilize the (profile nose) shark nose. In addition, double crochet at the suspension points of the third line level is approximately 70 cm long. These go up to about 30 cm to the trailing edge. The edge approx. 30 cm is free of chopsticks. The lines are sheathed and the strap is as usual in heavy material as with Dudek, which makes the floor handling very easy. My test screen had a flawless, very clean processing of all the details. I started the "Hadron xx" in flat terrain forward and backward, with not just constant wind. The wind strength on the ground was 04.05.16 around 10 to 15 kmh with alternating east and at the

21.05.16 around 5 to 10 km/h from west. I have the "Hadron xx" Fly free in all Trimmerstellungen, strong Wingover, ears folding with pull one side and both sides. The steep spiral of 10 to 12 m/sec. has flown several times, swinging and rolling and on two different days in different wind conditions.

Screen lay out and start

The preparation of the start of "Hadron xx" is only once pretty easy. As for almost any motor slightly arching, set out when starting the train is more evenly on the A-risers. In addition, the wing has only 22 m2 area and is thus quite manageable. Attention: In the riser, we have two trimmers a top small, here as Flaps known and the lower larger here than Trimmer Called. At the start we have closed flaps and trimmers so that the starting run (high speed) is possible. The start, yes the set up of the wing makes joy. Simply use closed flaps and closed trimmer to take the front, inner a-belts and move consistently forward, not to run in. The wing fills up quickly, simply rises (does not shoot) to the vertex and stands with little brake. Once the wing reaches the vertex, a sporty start starts, but who surprises it? At 22 m2 area and 138 kg takeoff weight, this cannot be any different. I have noticed that the run is extremely shortened as follows. Pull the screen up to the vertex, immediately full throttle, accelerate the start-up speed and then use the brakes with approx. 20 cm at full throttle and the wing will lift you off the ground. Now just do not open the brakes close to the near vicinity or remove the gas. During the startup run itself, one should memorize only slight tax rashes, as the wing very directly follows the control rashes. When landing, we must not use the brakes too early and too heavily, because the wing will otherwise implement the height. But exactly what we don't want on the landing, we make use of at the start. The rising behaviour of the "Hadron XX" is surprisingly good despite the small area, with a slight use of the brake (acting like flaps). The Dudek standard, elaborate carrying strap is very robust, which also facilitates gripping and overview. There is nothing mixed up, as is often the case with the very filigree and soft belts. The Stabilosteuerung TST is operated by a well-grasped loop. Would have liked me (I had already noted at Nucleon xx) as much better, a hose with balls, but that is just taste thing. Intuitive gripping with gloves is better with the hose ball grip option. Because on the hadron strap there are also two Trimmerschnallen and there is this little loop, somehow too much of the good. But this is more a question of habit. There is no effect on the control's operation.

Flight characteristics:

The Dudek "Hadron XX" can be piloted Super Direct, with very short steering. The wing hangs very, yes very directly on the brake and you only need very short control stops. Since the wing The longitudinal axis is very agile and requires an active style of movement in turbulent, moving air. So if you are looking for a screen that attenuates a lot, this is completely wrong. With this "Hadron XX" You do not need to worry about a little, it is very stable and that with closed and fully open flaps and trimmers. I found the factory brake adjustment to be quite successful, as far as the braking distance and the brake grip height are concerned. I personally do not like it especially when the brake handle is almost only with strong (obviously everything is also connected to engine, seat, arm length etc.) to operate arms. The "Hadron XX" can be controlled easily and efficiently via the brakes with closed flaps and closed trimmers. In this state (all closed) He reminded me of a high-performance paraglider, both with closed and open flaps.

With open flaps and semi-open trimming, the brake pressure is already really hard. From this semi-open trimming to completely open, the TST Stabilosteuerung should be used. Since we still have the 2-D control over the brake handle, we can also control by pulling the brake inwards (then only controls the respective stables), quite well. But this TST Stabilosteuerung is in a kind of efficient way that I have partly been frightened by the first operating units. With quite small, one-sided inserts, the "Hadron xx" can easily be brought into a Wingover here, even with the TST, the small Stabilosteuerung. At all, you have to be sensitive with the brake insert, always with a counter-brake to work. The "Hadron xx" can be very fast, extremely swinging in the case of coarse braking and this goes on alone with the TST Stabilosteuerung. In a coarse handed, it would be fatal, for others to find exactly what they are looking for. All, indeed all the tax interventions are very direct and without delay. All rolling movements, curves are always active with internal and external brakes. The Stabilosteuerung TST is operated by a separate small grip loop which is good (also with glove) to grab. So we can control the "Hadron xx" with the normal braking handle (2 D) or also in combination with the Stabilosteuerung, which makes this wing extremely manoeuvrable. In restless air it works slightly around the longitudinal axis, but remains quite calm around the axis. The wing must Be actively flown that means both brakes are always in use! The nick movement around the axis is not strongly pronounced, as it is quite tame. If you take the gas off abruptly in flight, the "Hadron xx" only slightly nods, so that you can then set up a little bit in the immediate gas. It always stays calm (no rolling) with closed and fully open trimmers, but reacts to "everything" due to its strong roll inclination to weight shifting! When opening the trimmer please remember that the wing after opening one side, immediately into the still closed side stark turns off. Here you could open both trimmer at the same time or just after partly to prevent this. Unilateral, complete trim opening the second trim side should be opened immediately and directly. Just so you can turn off the unpleasant, strong of wing prevent. The control pressure in normal work route 10 is very pleasant cm to 15 cm, it rises later progressive at larger control deflections. A surgically induced unintentionally stall is so quickly not possible due to the progressively increasing brake pressure. Values:

With the takeoff weight of about 138 kg I came to the following speeds, measured in a height of 250 to 350 m/MSL, with GPS. The flaps and trimmer completely closed about 40 km/h, only so much gas that the height could be kept, so no rise and no sinking. After opening the flaps, the speed increased by about 5 to 6 km/h to 45/46 km/h. Then the top trimmers were additionally completely opened and now it goes forward, 60/61 km/h. The (not tested) speed system has not yet been activated! These speed measurements were carried out on two different days, several times and compared. This "Hadron xx" is the fastest I've ever had in my hands! The speed on the glide does not interest me personally with the motor screen at all, but ultimately it is only relevant how fast you are on the way on the same level. The foot accelerator may only be used with open flaps, but with closed or open trimmers. This "Hadron XX" is a racing machine and therefore one should not compare the characteristics of this sport wing with normal motor screens, it is a class of its own. With open flaps and a trim preparation up to approx. 52/55 km/had my FB-Sportix not be excessively strenuous, it was more like everything in a familiar speed range. With fully open trimmers and a speed around the well 60 km/h, the speed was already higher and too large climbs are no longer expected. Keeping the height at this high speed, however, was not a problem. After the start, coming from the normal climb, the small Flaptrimmer are opened completely, only after the main trimmer. So and now the hadron Whistles right off... J The tested "Hadron xx" had 22 m2 area and the wing glides very well. It has 62 cells, its elongation is 6.15 and it weighs 5.7 kg. Its wingspan 11.63 mtr. As with Dudek, everything is usually produced in Europe.

Descent behavior:

The "Hadron xx" is a very simple way to fold the ears. The outer A-line is gripped above the linen lock and by pulling down this line the respective wing tip is folded up to the approx. 15th cell. This requires no particularly high forces. It can be (outer 8 cells are closed) that the folded wing surface beats something when it is not completely emptied. When loosening the A-line, the wing tip usually rolled out independently, otherwise something to help with the brake. The introduction of the steep spiral is very fast due to the high rolling inclination of the "Hadron xx" around the longitudinal axis. Thanks to the 2-D control, this manoeuvre can be accelerated even further by pulling the brake line inwards. I have the steep spiral each flew with closed trimmers and with trim creation slightly open to level 3. The flaps open, the trimmers close or up to level 3 open, weight to the inside of the corner and use of the brake with additional (2d control) train inward. It follows a good turn and one is in the spiral. The spiral was repeated several times around the 10 to 12 MTR. Flown. Due to the small area and the very high dynamic, the brake insert should be soft and round. When disallowing, it is enough to slow down the inner brake. The Wing is self-directed and returns to the normal trajectory. The discharge must be controlled over both brakes and some turns. Do not simply allow the wing to be pulled out of its dynamic circular with an open brake. When discharged, support the outside of the wing with (lightly braking) so that it does not set too much in the spiral. The steep spiral should be slowly approaching, it's all very fast.

The landing with the "Hadron XX" is something special again. Before landing, close the large trimmer first, then the flaps (KL. Trimmer) Also, these latter (flaps) may also remain open. Definitely not the flaps first, always first close the Haupttrimmer. Now you will very quickly the land area and that could scare innocent. But also please proceed as you've learned with other, quicker wings. The land area accordingly with open brake fly to and approximately 1 mtr. use the ground slowly, very slowly the brakes. The brakes should be considered now to strongly everything instantly to "Hadron xx" in height, that would be counterproductive. So very delicately insert the brake (seem like flaps on an airplane), so beautifully, you can control the flat curve of decline, possibly a walk through the grassy sand let and then very slow at the last moment. Because of the small area of the wing, the wing not too early and too high energy braking out take. All this until it is a quirk of the small, fast wing near the ground, and you should remember firmly that. Our place is not big now and the last landing at about 3 km/h surface wind was there no problem. As I said, it goes (both tested) with open flaps and also closed flaps. The difference is, it comes with open flaps again to about 5 km/h (46 mph in zero winds above the ground) faster on the ground than just with geschlossenen...J

General:

This "Hadron xx" from the House of Dudek is a completely redesigned motor glider and with the normal hadron has little to do nothing. It is here like with the Nucleon xx and the Nucleon WRC, two completely different wings. The shark Nose (ozone patent) has now entered the "Hadron XX" here as well. In order to train the SharkNose in the profile nose, sewn-in plastic sticks are continuously installed over crosses (see the text of the discharges). The wing is supplied with a motor carrying strap and this is equipped with flaps trimmer, the trimmer and the Speed System (accelerator). The Stabilosteuerung, which is integrated separately in the carrying strap, works extremely directly and effectively. This TST Stabilosteuerung is easy to use and can be used and operated with the brake handle together or separately. You can be divided on the operation of the handle loop. Personally, I mean, there's nothing about a hose covering with one or two balls, because it's intuitively better to grasp without having to look at it. In addition, this hadron strap is already quite complex due to the two attached Trimmerschnallen, runners and rollers anyway. Pilots, who are already familiar with fast reflex wings and fly a lot, could get something new with the "Hadron xx" here. Very important here, this wing "should" before making a purchase, test flown and that not only two short flights. No, quite a few landings with at least 2 or more hours flying time and quite a few should be already. Is still very important, to advance right have a and study the manual, because this wing a lot is to be observed. The brake adjustment condition on my test wing was ok, I needed to change anything there. The DGAC approval for the "Hadron xx" is already granted.

Conclusion:

Earlier I mentioned that the hadron flies in its own class. Pilots need to know, here we have a wing where operating errors could end up nasty. The "Hadron xx" is more likely to be used, as you can also use an airplane (axle). There are values that are to be adhered to and the pilot must always know what he is doing, why. Not because the "Hadron XX" is a problem, no, it could simply be served incorrectly due to its complexity. As a result, the consequences could be rather nasty than with a standard wing. But those who are sure of having understood how to pilot this wing and who are slowly groping for it have a super wing. With the "Hadron XX" You can also fly slowly and relatively stress free, but the dynamics also remains in the flaps and trimmer completely closed version available. So sporty flying is announced with a fast and good glider, as well as a good starter. The "Hadron XX" is offered in four sizes from 90 kg to 170 kg starting weight. The dome is very clean and durable. An overly large lightweight construction for motor screens cannot be in the long run and does not really make sense either.
