My visit to this year's Ostertestival in Sillian had in addition to the visit of and fly with friends an important goal: a new screen should be made!

For almost four and a half years my 2 mentor has been faithfully accompanying me and we both experienced a lot during this time... we had a lot of fun together and I was able to learn a lot during this time. The most important realization, however, during my short 6-year flight experience was for me: I am primarily a pleasure flier, which I am not is a track hunter.

My problem: In turbulent air my mentor likes to zigzag and tends to flap – If you let him. My active style prevented the flaps, but not the mentor ´ s zig-zag. For me, restless or turbulent air was usually associated with stress and mental tension, and I already had enough of it on my work... so I had the time to think about a segment change. You cannot speak of a class change when you step back from high-lvl to low-lvl within the B-class. Low-lvl paraglider... as it sounds, ugh...

I briefly forget my ego and remember the essentials... the pleasure of flying! Ziad ´ s test for the new Nova Ion 4 Made me curious and so I had the experience intermediate for the Ostertestival in Sillian as a test candidate on the radar. Unfortunately, it turned out that many others too,... therefore I could only test the ion for two flights for a total of just 2h Airtime. Despite the short test time, the feel-good factor during the flights was very high and this qualified the Nova ion 4 as (m) a future screen candidate.

Nevertheless, two flights are not enough to make a purchase decision. In consequence I will go again to Sillian and then fly extensively... or nova sends me a copy in size M for testing! Hello Nova, anyone reading with? ... J

Also inspired by Ziads report I had the Swing Nyos On my list. The screen is like my mentor also in the high-lvl B-segment, but according to Ziad has the interesting characteristic for me to compensate for turbulence and dahinzuschweben comfortably. "That would be something else... so I stay in the high-LVL segment, fly a screen that calls me but does not stress too much and that also looks beautiful", so at least my thought...

My experiences with the Nyos during two test flights, however, do not entirely coincide with Ziads description. Already during a slide in the morning the glider surprised me with lively agile and very direct curve behavior. Starting and landing also require athletic work and are a significant change to my 2 mentor – the Nyos is incredibly fast. Perhaps the Nyos is a wing with which ambitious and experienced flyers, who love a challenge in the air, will have a lot of fun.

Certainly then the very restless flight behaviour of the Nyos during my second pilot flight was due, among other things, perhaps to sporting conditions on this day, be it... The dance has confirmed to me that my flying luck will be under a Low-lvl paraglider to look for. Even though the categorization in low-and high-lvl gives me little pleasure and I could swear on the test date in question could hang under a C-screen.

Anyway my screen choice goes out, I will of course continue to report on it...
